Word forms exercises with a dynamic scoring system and timer to simulate a test. Keep trying until you get all the answers right.
- Each gap is of equal value in the total score.
- Asking for a hint on any gap will reduce the score for that gap proportionately to the number of letters in that answer. For activities on this page, if you ask for a hint on a six-letter word, then one-third of the score for that word will be lost, or if you ask for a hint on a ten-letter word, then one-fifth of the score for that word will be lost.
- Every time you click on Check, if the answer is not completely correct, there is a penalty. In other words, if you use hints and clues repeatedly while completing an exercise, your score will be reduced considerably, and may even end up at zero. You should complete the whole exercise before pressing the Check button; if you check each answer as you enter it, you will lose a lot of points.
- Answers are not case-sensitive. However, make sure that your spelling is correct.
- When the timer runs out, your work so far will be scored, and the score displayed; after that, no further work on the exercise will be possible.
- You can adjust your answers as many times as you want as long as you haven't run out of time.
- It is possible to refresh the page to restart the timer, however, you will have to redo the exercise.
- As stated, asking for hints will lower your score.
- When you ask for a hint, the next letter of the answer will be displayed.
- It is possible for a wrong answer to change when you ask for a hint. You could try filling in part of the word and press Hint to see which letter goes next.
- Alternatively, you can select (click or tap on) a blank space and press hint for the next letter of that answer to be displayed.
